What makes WooCommerce different
WooCommerce runs on your own WordPress installation. That gives freedom, but also means every webshop is built up slightly differently: different shipping plugins, different product variations, different hosting. The assistant accounts for that by working with the standard REST API instead of assumptions about your specific setup.
One advantage that makes WooCommerce unique: alongside order data, the assistant can also read your public WordPress pages. Your shipping policy, return terms and FAQ already on your site automatically become a knowledge source. You don’t need to maintain that information twice.
Product variations and statuses
WooCommerce works with variable products (size, color, version) and with custom order statuses you can create yourself. The assistant reads out those variations, so for a question about “the blue one in size L” it knows exactly which variant was ordered and what its stock level is.

Connecting via the WooCommerce REST API
Connected in four steps, usually within a few minutes.
In WordPress, go to WooCommerce, Settings, Advanced, REST API.
Create a new key with read and write permissions.
Copy the consumer key and consumer secret.
Paste those along with your site URL into YDM; the assistant tests the connection right away.

Frequently asked questions
Does this work with my hosting?
Yes, as long as the WooCommerce REST API is reachable. That’s the default with virtually all hosting providers. With a strict firewall, you may need to allow our IP.
What if I use a lot of plugins?
No problem. The assistant works with the standard REST API, not plugin-specific fields. If you use a returns plugin, we can often integrate it separately.
Can the assistant also use my blog?
Yes. Public WordPress pages and posts can serve as a knowledge source, which is especially useful for explaining policy and product usage.
